A BMW became stuck on Metrolink tram tracks close to New Islington tram stop in Manchester earlier today.
The incident led to tram services on the Ashton line being suspended “until further notice”.
No trams are currently running between Piccadilly Station and Ashton-under-Lyne.
It is understood the BMW has been abandoned, with occupants seen leaving the vehicle on foot.
Metrolink tickets and passes are being accepted on a number of Bee Network bus services while disruption continues.
Recovery arrangements are under way, with trams expected to resume once the vehicle has been removed and safety checks completed.
