Marjorie Taylor Greene slams Republican colleague who called for starvation of Palestinians

(LifeSiteNews) — Marjorie Taylor Greene has slammed a fellow GOP representative’s call for the starvation of Palestinians as “disgraceful.”

When Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported last week that 15 people in the region had died from starvation during a 24 hour-span, Jewish U.S. Representative Randy Fine (FL-6) responded by cheering on their starvation until the release of their hostages. He then denied starvation was taking place.

“Release the hostages. Until then, starve away,” Fine wrote on X. “(This is all a lie anyway. It amazes me that the media continues to regurgitate Muslim terror propaganda.),” his post continued.

That very day, Fine was appointed to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

“I can only imagine how Florida’s 6th district feels now that their Representative, that they were told to vote for, openly calls for starving innocent people and children,” remarked Greene in a Monday X post.

“It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza,” she continued.

“But a Jewish U.S. Representative calling for the continued starvation of innocent people and children is disgraceful. His awful statement will actually cause more antisemitism.”

Many observers berated Fine for his comments, and expressed support for an AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) tracker account’s call for him to be expelled from Congress.

Interestingly, it was reported on Monday that Fine’s name was missing from Israel lobby AIPAC’s list of pro-Israel congressmen. While the reason is unknown, The New Republic speculated that the reason could be Fine’s “starve away” remarks.

Another pro-Israel group, The American Jewish Committee, denounced Fine’s statement in an X post last week.

“The serious humanitarian situation in Gaza must not be taken lightly, especially by those at the highest levels of government. Implying that starvation is a legitimate tactic is unacceptable,” AJC wrote. “All those in need of humanitarian aid should receive it promptly and safely. Our leaders must focus less on scoring political points and more on doing their jobs.”

Fine still persisted Sunday in denying starvation in Gaza. In another post that day, he also endorsed violence against protestors, which was proposed as another possible reason for his removal from AIPAC’s list.

The congressman praised a bill “that would allow drivers to run over pro-Palestinian protesters blocking bridges and roads with impunity,” The New Republic noted.

“The Thump Thump Act will allow Americans to run over these Muslim Terrorists,” Fine wrote

Both local and international observers and officials have been testifying to ongoing starvation in Gaza for a period of at least several months. After Israel on March 2 reinstituted a total blockade on all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, the starvation in the enclave became catastrophic in late May.

About a month ago, a United Nations official said Israel’s ethnic cleansing, bombing, and starvation campaign against the people of Gaza is turning them into “monsters,” setting them back to a state of existence which “predates civilization.”

Francesca Albanese, the U.N.’s Special Rapporteur on the Israeli occupied Palestinian territories, said “the situation in Gaza has gone so rotten, so horrible, that I really don’t have the words to describe it anymore.”

Foreign ministers representing 28 Western nations recently signed a joint letter condemning Israel for its “drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians” in Gaza while calling for “an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” to end the genocidal war.
