Masterpiece in the making: How your art could hang alongside Monet’s | UK | News

Budding British artists have the chance to show their work in homes across the globe alongside masters like Van Gogh and Monet.

The pieces will be displayed in Dolby Vision as part of a new competition open to artists of all levels, from students and amateurs to seasoned professionals.

Launched by TV manufacturer Hisense, the contest has one top prize of £1,000 and a 55” Hisense Canvas TV. The winning piece – along with those of 19 other finalists – will be unveiled at an exclusive exhibition at Dolby House in London.

All 20 creations will then be showcased on Hisense’s new Canvas TV, a 4K QLED television designed to resemble framed artwork. When switched to Art Mode, it turns any living room into a gallery.

The Hisense x VIDAA Artwork Competition is being run in partnership with Kate Bryan, best known for judging Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year on Sky Arts.

“Supporting emerging artists is vital, especially in today’s highly competitive online space where it can be difficult to get your work seen,” she said.

“High quality digital art shown on television screens supports artists by allowing for their work to reach a wider audience at home.

“I’m pleased to be partnering with Hisense UK for this competition and look forward to the showcase final event which offers a fantastic opportunity to bring people together to experience art in person.”

Entries are open until midnight on Sunday 14th December 2025, with no limits on submissions. Artists can enter by uploading digital versions of their work via the Hisense UK website. New and past works are both eligible.

The competition is open to all UK-based artists, whether students, professionals or hobbyists. Full details and entry information can be found here.
