Meghan Markle has shared her support for Taylor Swift after the music icon announced her engagement to American Football star Travis Kelce.
The Duchess of Sussex’s gesture came as it had been suggested she was left frustrated at being overshadowed by a previous announcement by the pop star.

The pairs post showed the couple embracing in several in a verdant garden, flanked by a collage of different flowers.
One image showed Ms Swift’s hand being delicately held by Mr Kelce, showing off a large diamond engagement ring.
Evidently wishing to share her best wishes, Meghan Markle liked the announcement post using her official account.
Meghan was joined in showing support to the American duo by Prince William and Princess Kate, who also liked the post through their official account.

James Middleton, the bother of Kate, was also among the 13million people celebrating the couple’s happy disclosure.
Meghan’s show of support comes as it was suggested earlier this week that she had harboured some frustration over being overshadowed by Ms Swift.
A source informed royal commentator Rob Shuter that the reveal of the pop star’s new album, The Life Of A Showgirl, took attention away from the initial trailer for the second series of the Duchess’s Netflix show.
The source said: “Meghan thought her trailer would own the news cycle. Then Taylor’s announcement came in like a wrecking ball.

They added that the Duchess of Sussex “saw this as her comeback moment” and was left disappointed by its reception.
In another case of unfortunate timing, this Tuesday also saw full release of With Love, Meghan season two as well as the engagement announcement.
It is not the first time Taylor Swift found herself in the royal news cycle.
During the podcast appearance where she announced her new album, Ms Swift revealed she faced a dilemma when meeting Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The popstar met the royals alongside Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce in 2024.
Ms Swift and Mr Kelce posed for a picture with the Prince of Wales, Prince George and Princess Charlotte backstage after they attended one of the Eras Tour concerts.
She discussed a moment where she was unsure how the royals would react as her boyfriend brandished a beer while meeting the royals.
Jason Kelce jokingly asked: “Is it disrespectful to have a beer when you meet royalty?”
