Meghan Markle’s strange gift request from the late Queen revealed | Royal | News

Queen Elizabeth once bought a surprising gift for Prince Archie, after Meghan Markle’s request, according to Prince Harry. The sweet revelation came from the Duke of Sussex in 2021, when he shared a rare glimpse of his life in Montecito with the Duchess, who is celebrating her 44th birthday today, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Harry appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden and revealed that Elizabeth asked him and Meghan what Archie, six, wanted for Christmas. And it turns out that little Archie, one and a half years old at the time, wanted a waffle maker. Harry said, “My son is now over a year and a half. He is hysterical. He’s got the most amazing personality. He’s already putting two or three words together, and he’s already singing songs.”

He added: “His first word was ‘crocodile’, three syllables.”

The Duke then went on to reveal his late grandmother’s special Christmas gift saying: “Interestingly, my grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas and Meg said a waffle maker, she sent us a waffle maker for Archie…

“So breakfast now, Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix in the waffle maker, flips it, and out it comes, he loves it.

“Archie literally wakes up in the morning and says ‘waffle’.”

According to the royal, Queen Elizabeth’s sweet gift made him convert to waffles for breakfast, too.

He added: “Now I have waffles for breakfast, a bit of yoghurt, a bit of jam on top. I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do.”

This year, the Duchess uploaded a video showing herself making waffles for St Patrick’s Day, which many royal fans believed to be the late Queen’s special gift to her great-grandson.
