Today Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon announced a new civil rights lawsuit against the State of Minnesota. The Department of Justice alleges that the State of Minnesota and the State High School League have violated Title IX by allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports and to shower with the girls, whether the girls like it or not.
Buckle up MN — more incoming! https://t.co/VVUjMlWF3Z

Liberals in Minnesota will of course complain that the Trump administration is picking on our state for political reasons. But the most fundamental duty of the Executive Branch is to enforce the laws. The courts will ultimately decide the issue, but in my opinion it is obvious that depriving women and girls of athletic opportunities that Congress intended to confer, not to mention depriving them of their right of privacy, constitutes discrimination on the basis of sex. I hope and expect that DOJ will win this lawsuit, and Minnesota’s retrograde, anti-woman policies will be put to rest.
