M&S expands Click & Collect service to provide ‘even better’ experience for Irish shoppers

Marks & Spencer has strengthened its collaboration with Applegreen by launching two additional Click & Collect food outlets in Dunshaughlin and Cavan town.

The retailer now operates 31 food outlets within Applegreen service stations throughout Ireland.

These latest openings form part of an ambitious expansion programme announced earlier this year, which will see 20 new outlets established during 2025. Currently, there are 30 M&S Food outlets open at Applegreen locations across Ireland.

The “shop within a shop” format enables customers to access more than 400 M&S food products while also collecting online orders from the retailer’s fashion, home, and beauty ranges at convenient roadside locations.

The convenience stores stock an extensive selection of M&S products, ranging from fresh produce and prepared sandwiches to ready-made meals and confectionery.

Popular items include Percy Pig sweets, M&S cookies, and Colin the Caterpillar cakes, alongside “everyday essentials”, the supermarket told shoppers.

The Click & Collect service allows shoppers to order products online and retrieve them at their chosen Applegreen outlet during a pre-selected time window.

This contactless shopping method provides flexibility for customers travelling through these locations.

Beyond food items, the service extends to M&S’ broader product portfolio. Customers can place orders for clothing, homeware, and beauty products through the retailer’s website and collect these purchases at either the Dunshaughlin or Cavan sites.

Celebrating the expansion, Country director for M&S in Ireland and Northern Ireland, Eddie Murphy, stated: “We are proud to expand our partnership with Applegreen and bring M&S Food to Dunshaughlin and Cavan.

“This rollout allows us to reach more customers, offering convenient ways to pick up M&S favourites on the go while delivering real value.”

Managing director of Applegreen Ireland, Seamus Stapleton, added: “The addition of M&S Food at Dunshaughlin and Cavan demonstrates our commitment to offering customers the best food and hospitality brands.

“M&S is a much-loved household name, and this partnership allows us to deliver a wider range of quality products and an even better experience for our customers on the road.”

M&S established its first Irish store in 1979 and currently maintains 16 owned outlets throughout the country.

The retailer’s partnership with Applegreen significantly extends its reach across Ireland’s road network.

The Dunshaughlin outlet also showcases products from Keelings, a berry supplier based in Dublin and County Meath, demonstrating M&S’ support for Irish producers and regional businesses.

In other exciting M&S news, the retailer recently celebrated a major milestone with new offerings and experiences for parents in the UK.

To mark one year of The Parent Hood, the retailer has expanded its offerings, including significant enhancements to membership benefits.

The retailer will now provide its 10 per cent discount on babygrows to parents with children aged up to two years, extending the original 12-month limit.

The Parent Hood has attracted more than 230,000 members during its inaugural year, establishing itself as one of Britain’s fastest-expanding baby clubs.

It has transformed shopping experiences for families, offering substantial savings on essential items and creating communities for new parents via weekly coffee mornings.

Director of kidswear at M&S, Alexandra Dimitriu, said: “Whatever your age or stage, The Parent Hood is here to support families as we continue to broaden our appeal to become more relevant, more often.”
