Ilhan Omar made news over the weekend with her allegation that, in an epidemic of “racial profiling,” ICE had stopped her son (the 22-year-old Adnan Hirsi). Omar brought it up in her smoochy interview with CBS Minnesota’s Esme Murphy on Sunday (online story here).
Suffice it to say that Murphy did not home in on the details. Her attitude to Omar is akin to Chris Farley’s toward Paul McCartney: “How can you be so great?” Farley played the role of a smitten fan for comedic effect. Murphy plays the role of a journalist to promote her politics. She’s like Chris Farley without the laughs.
James Rosen reports on X that ICE disputes the Hirsi stop. Who’s zoomin’ who? I’m pretty damn sure that ICE isn’t “racial profiling” anyone. That’s a lie right there. Some doubt is therefore warranted in the matter of ICE and its alleged stop of Adnan Hirsi. As for Omar herself, I have concluded in the course of my long study — now going on ten years — that she is untouchable. I would nevertheless add, metaphorically speaking, stop Ilhan Omar!
EXCLUSIVE: Officials @ICEgov tell @NEWSMAX the agency has no record of stopping a car driven by the son of @Ilhan, as the congresswoman claimed. Acting Director Lyons called the charge a “ridiculous effort to unfairly demonize our law enforcement officers.” pic.twitter.com/x5EwGHvkrF
