Multiple people have been hurt after a lorry rammed into a crowd of anti-Iran protesters in Los Angeles.
The U-Haul truck, bearing a message against regime change, was captured on video driving through a crowd of demonstrators, sending people running away in fear.
Witnesses said the truck hurtled toward protesters waving Iranian flags, attempting to force its way through the gathering.
It had a large banner taped to its side reading: “No Shah, No Regime. USA: Don’t Repeat 1953. No Mullah.”
The horror moment unfolded in broad daylight on Veteran Avenue in the Westwood area of the city, where hundreds had been out protesting against the Islamic Republic.
One witness, Susie Shoshana, captured the moment on video.
“Went to a party on Veteran Avenue, came out and there’s the Iran protest march right in front of the building,” Ms Shoshana said.
“Caught on video this a*****e ramming his U-Haul through the protest.”
Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop – before being surrounded by protesters.
Some demonstrators were seen smashing its windows.
In further footage, the driver can be seen being hauled out of the vehicle by police – while bystanders can be heard screaming.
As LAPD officers escorted him away, multiple protesters were seen trying to punch him and strike him with flagpoles – with police forced to push the crowd back.
The Los Angeles Fire Department has so far confirmed three people were injured by the truck.
