Watch the moment Nana Akua took aim at Russia’s criticism catapulted at Donald Trump over the US airstrikes on the Venezuelan capital.
After launching air strikes against the nation’s capital of Caracas, Mr Trump confirmed the nation’s President had been taken into custody after being captured from a “fortress” before being sent to New York.
Nicolas Maduro, alongside his wife, face multiple drug charges in the eastern state.
Multiple explosions rocked the capital city of Caracas at around 1.50am local time (5.50am GMT) this morning with attacks taking place across Miranda, Aragua and La Guaira, a statement from Caracas said.
Mr Trump confirmed the US was behind the attacks and lauded the “brilliant operation”.
But, in the wake of the attack, Russia’s foreign ministry branded the strikes “an act of armed aggression” which is “deeply concerning and condemnable”.
The ministry added: “The pretexts used to justify such actions are unfounded… In the current situation, it is important, first and foremost, to prevent further escalation and to focus on finding a way out of the situation through dialogue.
“Latin America must remain a zone of peace, as it declared itself to be in 2014.

“And Venezuela must be guaranteed the right to determine its own destiny without any destructive, let alone military, interference from outside.”
But Nana was quick to accuse the Russian criticism as “ironic”.
“It does seem ironic that the critics of this are Russia, who accused America of an act of armed aggression, which is, again, absolute irony, considering their work in Ukraine,” she said, in discussion with guest Sir Michael Ellis.
The former Attorney General was in agreement with the GB News star, who reiterated it was “a very good point” after Russia launched a full-scale illegal invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

“As you say, you’ve seen criticism from Russia and from China and from those sorts of actors who really are not in a position to take a high moral ground on these sorts of issues,” Sir Michael told Nana.
“The West have largely stayed quiet so far,” he added.
Out of British party leaders, Reform UK leader and Trump ally Nigel Farage was the first out the door to issue a balanced response to the surprising attack.
The Clacton MP said: “The American actions in Venezuela overnight are unorthodox and contrary to international law — but if they make China and Russia think twice, it may be a good thing.
“I hope the Venezuelan people can now turn a new leaf without Maduro.”
Later in the day, Sir Keir Starmer issued a response after the airstrikes took place, saying that it was “obviously a fast-moving situation.
He said: “We need to establish all the facts. What I can say is that the UK was not involved in any way in this operation.
“And as you’d expect, we’re focusing on British nationals in Venezuela and working very closely with our embassy.
“I will want to talk to the President. I would want to talk to allies. But at the moment I think we need to establish the facts.”
