Neighbour row erupts as driver keeps using homeowner’s driveway to park his car

A homeowner has taken matters into his own hands after a neighbour repeatedly used his driveway as a personal parking space, despite numerous requests to stop.

The frustrated resident shared his experience on Reddit, explaining how he would regularly return from work or shopping to find his neighbour’s vehicle occupying his driveway, forcing him to park on the street instead.

He wrote: “My neighbours been parking in my driveway for months I’ve asked him not to a bunch of times but he always goes ‘it’s just for a sec’ and shrugs it off.”

The neighbour’s dismissive response and continued unauthorised parking eventually pushed the homeowner to devise a plan for retribution.

The homeowner’s opportunity for revenge came when he returned home on a Friday to find his neighbour’s car once again blocking his driveway.

He explained: “Came home last Friday and yep, there he was again only things was… I was heading out of town for the weekend so I pulled in behind him, locked up, grabbed my stuff and left.”

The strategic parking manoeuvre left the neighbour’s vehicle trapped for the entire weekend.

He added: “Couple hours later I had a bunch of missed calls and a text like, ‘Dude wtf?’ But I didn’t answer it. Hope he had a relaxing weekend to think things through.”

The Reddit post garnered widespread support from users who shared their own experiences with inconsiderate parkers.

One commenter suggested a cheeky response: “Text back: ‘Hold on, I’ll just be a minute’.”

Another added: “Why has this taken months? I would have mentioned it once then called a tow truck every time after.”

A third said: “I would never park in someone’s driveway, who comes and goes, without permission. Glad you sandwiched this clown in.”

Another shared their own parking enforcement story: “I kept telling a contractor that we lock the gates at 4pm every day, because he would still be parked in our shop lot as I was trying to lock up and go home for the night.”

They continued: “After having the same conversation three times, the next time I didn’t go talk to him. Locked the gate, locked him and his van in there, and went home.

“I don’t know exactly what happened after I left that day but he’s been out at 3.30pm ever since.”
