(LifeSiteNews) — The chickens have come home to roost for pro-abortion New York Attorney General Laetitia James.
James has been in the spotlight for the past several years thanks to her relentless attacks against President Donald Trump.
“His days are numbered,” she erroneously claimed not long ago.
Thanks to a recent court ruling, it may be James’ days that are numbered, not Trump’s.
On Thursday, a Virginia grand jury indicted James on charges related to bank fraud and falsified statements to a financial institution, charges that could carry a 30-year prison sentence and a $1 million fine for each count she is found guilty of.
The charges are related to a home she purchased in Norfolk, Virginia in 2020.
U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan announced this week that he intends to continue following “the facts” of James’ potential wrongdoings.

Turns out, SHE was actually the one committing bank fraud — not President Trump

James has harassed pro-lifers in the past
James has a long track record of defending abortion. In 2023, she filed an injunction against pro-life activists who engage in Red Rose Rescues at abortion clinics in New York to keep them away from the facilities.
“Letitia James seeks to prevent pro-lifers from reaching out to women with love, compassion, understanding, and practical material help,” Dr. Monica Miller told LifeSiteNews at the time.
The injunction, filed in the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York, listed Red Rose Rescue, Christopher Moscinski, Matthew Connolly, William Goodman, Laura Gies, John Hinshaw and two unnamed persons as defendants.
James has engaged in a litany of other methods to attack innocent life as well. In 2024, she tried but failed to move litigation involving pregnancy help organizations to Manhattan from upstate New York. She also tried to and failed to force pregnancy centers to stop informing women about abortion pill reversal.
James’ case against Miller and her associates was ultimately decided this past spring, with U.S. District Court Judge Kenneth M. Karas granting her office a summary judgment.
“On March 21, 2025, a federal judge ruled that Red Rose Rescue, an anti-abortion extremist group, repeatedly violated state and federal laws by invading clinics, obstructing access, and interfering with abortion care across New York,” FingerLakes1.com reported.
“This is a monumental victory for the rule of law, for reproductive freedom, and for every patient who has been harassed, intimidated, or blocked from accessing the health care they need,” James boasted at the time.
A Red Rose Rescue occurs inside an abortion center, where pro-life activists enter the facility in a final attempt to save unborn babies from abortion. Participants offer red roses to the pregnant women and encourage them to choose life by providing practical information and help.
Red Rose Rescuers, whose mission includes accepting consequences of standing up for the rights of the unborn, have repeatedly faced criminal prosecutions, convictions and even jail time for their attempts to defend innocent life.
James’ troubles with the government are only going to get worse
James’ indictment alleges that she falsely informed a bank that she was planning to live at the Norfolk home but used it as an investment property instead, resulting in her receiving a lower interest rate.
Halligan reiterated in a statement that the charges “represent intentional, criminal acts and tremendous breaches of the public’s trust.”
James first drew the ire of the federal government when Trump Attorney General Pam Bondi announced an investigation into James in August. Democrats have complained that the lawsuit is politically motivated payback against Trump’s opponents, while Republicans maintain that it is simply needed because “no one is above the law.”
James’ court appearance is set for October 24 in Norfolk before Judge Douglas E. Miller.
