In a post on X the FDNY said they are “operating at a 3-alarm fire at 201 West 107th Street in Manhattan”.
In an update the fire department added that the “fire at 201 West 107th Street has escalated to a 4th alarm”.
A 4th alarm signifies a major, large-scale fire in New York City requiring a significant number of firefighters, equipment, and resources, often involving intense flames, wind, or complex building situations that quickly escalate beyond initial alarms, bringing in numerous engines, ladders, and command staff to control the blaze.
