Today my office has charged Congresswoman [LaMonica] McIver with violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 111(a)(1) for assaulting, impeding and interfering with law enforcement.

Making the announcement was the U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Alina Habba, with a press release.
Habba also announced the dropping of a misdemeanor trespassing charge against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka arising from the same incident at an ICE facility located in that city.
