Nigel Farage says coal is needed in small quantities for specialist reasons and that should be mined in the UK.
He says the arguments in favour of Sizewell are “remarkable” – asking how the Government can argue for it at the same time as “intermittent” renewables.
He claims there are several days this year when the country has had to import 20% of its energy. Reform, he says, is pro-nuclear, but says Hinkley and Sizewell are “pretty outdated” models of reactors.
