No Kings?

The Democratic Party has organized anti-Trump rallies across the country today. They are calling the rallies “No Kings,” suggesting that President Trump is some kind of dictator. To be fair, I suppose “king” is better than “Nazi.” In reality, these demonstrations are celebrating the riots and political violence that we have seen in recent days, especially in Los Angeles. Bernie Sanders explicitly connects them with violent revolution:

They have already inspired at least two assassination attempts against Trump, and these protests won’t help.

I have been in Texas all week, and this morning we drove by a “No Kings” demonstration:

Texas is a demographically diverse state, but as usual, these Democrats were all white and middle-aged or elderly:

High class people:

Traffic was moving slowly, and for a minute or two we were stopped at a light. So I rolled down my window and heckled the protesters. They had signs about democracy; I yelled “Democracy? Who won the election?” As my window went up I could hear someone yelling that Trump is now at 40% in the polls. Oh, well OK then. The serious point here is that Democrats love to yammer about democracy, but what is really happening is that they are using every possible means, legal and illegal, to negate our democracy by frustrating the will of the majority, as expressed in the 2024 election.

More to come tonight. I expect violence in some venues. In Minnesota, the “No Kings” rally has been canceled, as all major elected DFL officials had planned to attend, and the person who murdered the DFL’s House leader and seriously wounded a state senator is still at large.
