You have to hand it to the Trump team – they certainly are flipping the script and making the most of their depiction on “South Park” this week in an episode that focused on ICE.
The show wasn’t funny, as I reported:
The episode revolved around guidance counselor Mr. Mackey’s decision to join ICE to make money after being fired from South Park Elementary, and it portrayed ICE as having no hiring standards and just wanting to go after brown people, even if they had to chase the nice brown people down in heaven. They even have a line, “If you’re brown, you’re going down,” from DHS head Kristi Noem. Mackey then gets a trip to Mar-a-Lago, which “South Park” envisions as a house of debauchery. My description is funnier than the show. Unfortunately, this kind of stuff isn’t going to help them stay relevant after 27 years.
But Vice President JD Vance had a little fun in his response to his depiction as “Tattoo” from “Fantasy Island.”
The DHS leaned into it as well, using a still from the episode for their recruitment drive.

The show also mocked DHS head Kristi Noem, depicting her as vain and someone who gets Botox, with her face melting. Noem called the depiction “lazy.”
“It never ends, but it’s so lazy to constantly make fun of women for how they look,” Noem, 53, told Glenn Beck on his podcast Thursday.
“It’s always the liberals and the extremists who do that. If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t, they just pick something petty like that.”
Now, Noem is using her character portrayal in an X post to also advertise for people to join ICE. Additionally, she made it her X-profile picture.

I think the eye part of the picture was added by someone on the internet, but otherwise, it looks the way it was portrayed on the show.
Hilariously, the DHS also thanked “South Park” for their help in hyping the recruitment drive in their episode.
“We want to thank ‘South Park’ for drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment: We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” a statement from the agency said ahead of the show.
Whether they get it or not, the show did help put more of a spotlight on the recruitment drive. DHS already had over 80,000 applications, an incredible response. They’re going to get a ton of new people with the hiring effort to help out with the work.

The way the DHS was handling the show is good–turn it around on them, with humor, but with the greater point also putting a little more of the truth out there. No, it isn’t about taking down the “brown people” – it’s about enforcing the law to protect the American people.
ICE agents are the good guys in this drama, not the leftists who would demonize or attack them.
