October 7 Attack Mastermind Meets His End in Israeli Airstrike – RedState

We are, as I regularly point out, engaged in a conflict of civilization vs. barbarity. Israel is on the leading edge of this conflict, and on Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a significant victory. This can only be described as good news for the civilized world: Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, the alleged mastermind of the October 7, 2023, attacks by Hamas on Israel, has reportedly been killed by a targeted Israeli air strike.

Israel’s military “eliminated” a founding Hamas military leader and mastermind behind the Oct. 7 attack, Tel Aviv officials said Saturday.

Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa was killed during a targeted airstrike on the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City, Israel Defense Forces said.

Al-Issa was one of the final remaining founding members of the terrorist organization’s military wing and played a crucial role in the Oct. 7 attack that launched the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Al-Issa was, as the article notes, one of the final remaining founding members of Hamas. I have no problem with the IDF un-aliving all of them, so this is a step in the right direction. And this was a bad, bad guy:

“Issa led Hamas’ force build-up, training, and planned the October 7 massacre. As Head of Combat Support, he advanced aerial & naval attacks against Israelis,” said an IDF post on X.

“The IDF & [Israel Security Agency] will continue to locate and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre.”

This is a guy who masterminded a plot to kill hundreds of innocent civilians, including whole families. This was a man who sent an evil horde loose on a civilian population: On elderly people in their homes, on infants and small children, on young people enjoying a music festival. They took hostages, some of whom Hamas still holds. They committed atrocities that I won’t describe here; we’ve read enough of them already. This was, remember, the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, and this guy was one of the primary planners. The world is now a better place because he’s no longer in it.

Someone like Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa has effectively surrendered his humanity by his acts, and his having his pronouns changed to “over here” and “over there” is one of the more satisfying ways we can think of for his career to end.

There has been previous good news on this front:

Issa’s death comes just days after the IDF claimed to have killed the leader of a brutal Palestinian jihadist group responsible for the kidnappings and cold-blooded murders of Hamas hostages captured on Oct. 7.

Asaad Abu Sharia, head of the Mujahideen Brigades, was taken out in a joint operation in Gaza City on Saturday by the Israeli Defense Forces and the Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency.

Also, last month, the IDF killed Hamas chief Mohammad Sinwar during an airstrike on a Gaza hospital.

Sinwar was hiding in tunnels beneath the building — and dramatic footage captured the moment IDF soldiers ripped his body from the rubble.

To the IDF, I can only say this: Well done. Keep it up.
