Officers swarm Edinburgh centre and lock down street | UK | News

An Edinburgh city centre street has been locked down as police warn residents to “avoid” the area.

The street was shut around 7.45pm on Friday, January 9, with several police vehicles in the area.

Photos from the scene show police tape cordoning off the street on George IV Bridge near the Central Lending Library and the National Library of Scotland. Police have also warned that Cowgate is shut.
