People Don’t Quite Believe the Audacity of Mamdani’s Latest Remarks About Trump – RedState

The folks who don’t want New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to become mayor are going to have to go all in if they don’t want him to win.

If you win the Democratic primary in such a blue city, it’s going to be hard to get around that in the general election. They need to get behind just one contender to collect all the anti-Mamdani votes. That’s their one shot, and they don’t have a lot of time to do it in. So hopefully that helps propel some real action.

Meanwhile, Mamdani is still saying things that should make anyone with a brain in their head not vote for him. His latest remarks go off into fantasy land, as he tries to blame President Donald Trump for the “rapid decline” in New York City tourism.

Mamdani said they would “fight back” against an “authoritarian administration.” He pushed the straight-up lie that Trump was “disappearing our neighbors.” The only people being detained are those who are illegal aliens and/or those breaking the law.  He said he would be proud to stand up for the city: “The world is welcome in this city.”

I’m sure he would welcome all the world, illegal or not.

Trump has brought so many positives an improving economy, better trade relationships, more peace in the world, and, most infuriating to the Democrats, a secure border. Meanwhile, New York City has been run by Democrats for years, with a big crime problem and a failure to deal with its illegal alien problem. But it’s Trump’s fault that tourists might be leery of NYC? I don’t think so.

People couldn’t believe the audacity.

A member of the media had the nerve to ask him about the saying “globalize the intifada” again. Mamdani caused a stir when he refused to condemn people using that phrase. Then DNC Chair Ken Martin deepened the problem when asked about that, by saying they had a “big tent” party, and praising Mamdani.

But Mamdani’s response to the reporter this time is typical of how he responds to difficult questions he doesn’t want to answer. He pastes on a grin and simply avoids it.

His aides talk over the question, and the musicians start to play, just as they used to with Joe Biden. So much for any intelligent answer to the question.

If I were a New Yorker, I would find all of that more than a little problematic.
