People Teeing Off on Mamdani Already As Reality Sets In – RedState

How are things going in New York City, almost one month into the term of socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani?

Well, it looks like the honeymoon was a short one.

People are already mad.

His neighbors on the Upper East Side are spitting mad about the failure to clear the snow and the garbage. And if the UES is bad, you know that other areas have to be bad too.

Actor Michael Rapaport documented some of the mess and wasn’t shy about expressing himself.

Warning for graphic language:

Actress Debra Messing was a very unhappy camper, too, calling out the situation in an X post, saying this was the first time she’d seen this in her time in New York, “I wonder what happened.”

That last remark sounded like a shot at Mamdani. Neither she nor Rapaport supported Mamdani.

The NY Post said in some places on the Upper East Side, the garbage was eight feet high. People need to understand that the UES is one of the wealthiest parts of the city. But you know what area was clear? The area right around Mamdani’s present home at Gracie Mansion.

Blocks away, the sidewalks outside the lefty mayor’s digs on East 88th Street are squeaky clean.

“I couldn’t believe it when I saw yesterday — a whole army of sanitation workers plowing and shoveling every bit of snow off of that side of the street,” local Nick Rivers griped to The Post on Sunday as he walked his black Lab along a littered sidewalk near the mayor’s residence.

But across the street, not so much. “Clean as a whistle for the mayor,” Rivers said. “Look at this side.” The Post said his side was about six feet, while some other areas were eight.

Meanwhile, Mamdani’s take was completely clueless, “I’m new to the job,” the mayor said Friday. “I know the burdens will get heavier, but right now I struggle to imagine how it could be better.”

I don’t think too many people would agree with you.

Sounds like the people are not enjoying the warmth of collectivism much anymore.

Indeed, people were sharing a video on Sunday of some people shouting at him over a bullhorn outside Gracie Mansion. You can see that on X here.

“That’s right, we know about your mom,” a man said.

“We voted for you, Zohran. We advocated for you, Zohran. We advocated for you,” he shouted.  “You lied, Zohran. Shame, Zohran!”

Specifically, the man referenced the “CCRB,” which probably refers to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, which deals with complaints about the police.

The reference to his mom likely refers to a mention in the Epstein files.

According to an email sent by publicist Peggy Siegal on Oct. 21, 2009, to Jeffrey Epstein, Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, was at an afterparty with Siegal, Bill Clinton, and Jeff Bezos at Ghislaine Maxwell’s house for her film, “Amelia.” That was after Epstein pled guilty to soliciting. There were no allegations of wrongdoing against Nair.

But it’s pretty funny that it’s not even a full month, and even alleged supporters are expressing remorse.

Can we say we told you you were going to have issues?
