For Democrats, the January 6, 2021, demonstration at the Capitol was the defining event of the 21st century, so far. They persist in calling it an “insurrection,” even though no one, at the time, had the slightest idea of overthrowing the government and installing the guy with the horns as president. Still, in pursuit of their vendetta, the Democrats have turned the country upside down to identify grandmothers who wandered into (or past?) the Capitol on that day.
Meanwhile, there was at least one serious crime attempted in D.C. that day, or the evening before–the planting of pipe bombs outside both the Republican and Democratic Party headquarters. The bombs were described as viable devices, but fortunately neither exploded. While the bomber was caught on video, he was not easily identifiable, and the case has frustrated the FBI for years. When Kash Patel and the Trump administration came into office, the pipe bomber investigation was dusted off, and more resources were devoted to it. One could speculate that the Biden administration might not have wanted to apprehend the would-be bomber, because it might distract from their anti-Trump “insurrection” narrative.
Now a suspect has been arrested in the case. He is Brian Cole Jr. of Woodbridge, Virginia:
Cole is described as an anarchist. Like most anarchists–think Antifa–he comes from a prosperous background. He lives on a suburban cut-de-sac in a home worth more than $1 million, I assume with his parents.
Time will tell what the “anarchist” label means, and whether he has any connection to Antifa or other left-wing extremist groups. In any event, his apprehension–I assume he is guilty–adds a counterpoint to the anti-Trump January 6 narrative.
