Prince Andrew’s latest Epstein bombshell leave Palace ‘exasperated’ | Royal | News

Prince Andrew‘s latest revelations regarding Jeffrey Epstein have left palace aides “exasperated” and “frustrated”, it has been claimed. The Duke of York made headlines over the weekend after an email of his to the convicted paedophile emerged and appeared to contradict his claims during his infamous BBC interview about the timing of ceasing contact with him.

He allegedly told Epstein “we are in this together” in an email three months after he said he had stopped contact with him and just one day after the well-known photograph of the duke and Virginia Giuffre was published.

Now palace aides have come forward saying that “there is nothing more that can be done” for the disgraced duke, whose links to Epstein led to his public downfall in 2019, when he stepped down as a senior working royal.

Andrew was further stripped of his military titles in 2022, while the King axed his private funding last year.

An aide told The Sun: “There is exasperation and frustration at new revelations and that there is nothing much more that can be done. Everything that can be done has been.”

Andrew told BBC Newsnight in November 2019 that he broke off his friendship with Epstein in December 2010.

But an email seen by the Sun On Sunday and Mail On Sunday was allegedly sent on February 28, 2011.

According to the papers, Andrew wrote in the message: “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it. Otherwise, keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!”

He is said to have signed off with “A, HRH The Duke of York, KG”.

Andrew stepped away from his public role in 2019 amid the furore over his friendship with convicted billionaire paedophile Epstein.

He later paid millions to settle a civil sexual assault case with Ms Giuffre, who was trafficked by Epstein as a teenager and who Andrew claimed never to have met. The settlement was not an admission of guilt.

The duke has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing and the allegations made against him.
