Prince Harry’s former girlfriend has been arrested for leaving a hotel in Majorca without paying a bill. Reality TV star Catherine Ommanney, 53, was reportedly arrested on Sunday on suspicion of fraud after a hotel manager at the Playas del Rey Hotel in Santa Ponsa claimed she had not settled her €500 (£434) bill for a nine-day stay.
Catherine, who had a fling with Prince Harry in 2006 after the pair met at a bar, reportedly appeared before a judge yesterday evening in Palma and was released on bail pending an ongoing investigation. The story appeared in the Spanish newspaper Ultima Hora, which reported how the interior designer allegedly reserved her hotel stay using a card “with no funds” on it.
It is not known what Catherine said in court about the incident; however, she was spotted on Sunday heading to the private court hearing. She has not made any comment since the arrest, according to The Mirror.
She also said: “I do believe he enjoyed my company because I’m a little bit older and wiser and not like the 20-year-olds or whatever he had been hanging out with.
“I had the patience to listen to what he said and give him some advice on life.
“Harry was surrounded by young women that would throw themselves at him and I think he was searching for something deeper and more meaningful with someone wiser.”
It is believed they remained on friendly terms after their fling fizzled out after a few meetings.
