While the nation’s favourite Christmas songs are normally classics such as All I Want for Christmas Is You, Baby It’s Cold Outside, and Last Christmas, Prince William’s song of choice is far from traditional.
The Prince of Wales revealed all during a Christmas interview with young children for the Royal Marsden Hospital radio station. During the chat, William also opened up about his go-to festive film and the board game he’s not played with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
When asked about his favourite song to belt out during the holidays, William – who has been the President of The Royal Marsden since 2007 – admitted his choice was “a bit different.”
Speaking to host Barry Alston, Prince William – who has been Patron of Royal Marsden since 2007 – said: “For this particular chat with you Barry, I’m gonna say ‘Feliz Navidad’ is my favourite Christmas song because it’s a bit different”.
He continued: “I could say Mariah Carey, who I love dearly as well. That’s a good one and obviously there are many others, but I think I’ll probably go with ‘Feliz Navidad.’ It’s a bit more jolly.”
But that wasn’t the end of the Prince’s appearance on the show as he also told the young listeners that he is a big fan of one of the most popular Christmas films of all time.
William said: “I would have to say, probably Elf. It’s very funny and I keep watching it every Christmas and it still makes me laugh.”
As well as this, he spoke about the classic board game he plays with George, Charlotte and Louis and enjoys it as it makes everyone very “cross”.
Asked what his family’s go-to board game was, William explained, “We are playing board games with the children quite a lot. We love Monopoly, that’s good and Risk, have you played Risk before? That’s a good board game, it goes on for hours and usually everyone gets very cross because they lose. But that’s what I like playing.”
The Royal Marsden has held a special place in William’s heart for many years, as his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, previously served as the hospital’s president. In early 2025, Prince William and Princess Catherine were officially announced as the joint royal patrons of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
