A Fox News White House correspondent tried to come for President Donald Trump over his efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war, and it didn’t go at all like she expected.
During a White House Press Briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took questions about the president’s actions to end the war, ranging from his recent summit in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin to his discussions with European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Monday.

Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich asked what Trump was doing to ensure these “security guarantees” last after he’s not in office, and Leavitt brought the receipts.
Leavitt’s face seemed to say it all when she replied, “What’s he going to do?”
“It’s why he’s engaging in so many talks and so many conversations with both sides of this war, with our European allies,” the White House press secretary replied, before getting in a jab at the press corps.
“It’s why on the way home from Anchorage Alaska, very late at night, when I know many of you on the press plane were sleeping, and many staff were sleeping, the president himself was still awake at two o’clock in the morning talking to European leaders and NATO about how we can ensure a lasting peace and bring this conflict to an end,” she added.
“He has expended an incredible amount of time, energy, and effort into bringing this war to an end, and he remains determined to do that,” she added.
Right before the exchange, Heinrich seemed to downplay what Trump, Putin, and even European leaders have said, which is that this war wouldn’t have started if President Trump were in office at the time. It comes at the 25:37 minute mark.
Leavitt pressed the reporter on first if she accepted that premise, and she reluctantly said, “Probably.”

Heinrich wasn’t the only one Leavitt set straight on Tuesday. A New York Times reporter seemed to be clueless as to why President Trump spoke to Putin away from the other European leaders during their White House discussions, asking why it was “disrespectful to do that.”
And the Press Secretary took care of him in one final swoop, as the clip from our sister site Townhall.com showed.

“With all due respect, only a reporter from The New York Times would ask a question like that,” Leavitt said. “The president met with all of these European leaders 48 hours after sitting down with President Putin on American soil.”
“In fact, there was so much progress in the readout that was given to these European leaders immediately following his meeting with President Putin, that every single one of them got on a plane 48 hours later and flew to the United States of America,” she added.
