Meghan Markle‘s strained relationship with the Princess of Wales became very “crystal clear” during a key joint appearance due to the future Queen’s gesture, according to an expert. However, the same can’t be said about his wife’s relationship with her royal relatives. Body language Judi James has now commented on a key moment in 2022, during the walkabout in Windsor after Queen Elizabeth’s death, which highlighted the depth of the Sussex rift with the royals. It was then that Princess Kate chose to distance herself from Meghan and even “went into self-preservation mode,” according to Ms James.
She told the Daily Mail that the princess “made her position crystal clear,” explaining: “Kate appeared to use spatial behaviour and distancing to make her own point about group dynamics and a lack of desire to turn an homage to a dearly-loved Queen into a soap-style drama. Her body language suggested a very focused future Queen wanting to pay her respects to a late Queen with the kind of decisive firmness and resolve that Elizabeth II was famous for.”
