A ‘drunk’ passenger caused chaos on a flight to Bristol after refusing to sit down and arguing with officers. The Ryanair flight, from Krakow to Bristol, was disrupted on November 11, after a passenger reportedly refused to sit down and began arguing with security.
The incident, which was filmed by fellow passenger Kacper Bujak, shows the man arguing with stewards, swearing loudly, and resisting security as they attempted to remove him from his seat. According to Mr Bujak, the same passenger had caused trouble on a previous Sunday flight from Bristol to Kraków, where he drank heavily, swore, and misbehaved inappropriately towards a young woman seated nearby. He also allegedly disrupted border control in Kraków, BristolLive reports. On the return flight, the man initially seemed calmer, even greeting Mr Bujak with “Do you remember me?” but after drinking on board, his behaviour escalated.
Passengers reportedly asked him to quiet down because of the children on the plane, but this only caused further arguments. Near landing, the passenger refused to sit, which forced the pilot to delay touchdown.
“The man was loud most of the time,” Mr Bujak explained. As soon as he had a drink, he started his mischief and acting up.”
The footage ends with passengers leaving the plane, but Mr Bujak confirmed police took over an hour to remove the man, delaying the aircraft’s next scheduled flight to Kraków.
The Daily Mail reports that a Ryanair spokesperson said: “Crew on this flight from Krakow to Bristol (November 11) called ahead for police assistance after an individual passenger became disruptive.
“Police met the aircraft upon arrival at Bristol and removed this disruptive passenger.
“Ryanair has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take decisive action to combat unruly passenger behaviour, ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a respectful and stress-free environment, without unnecessary disruption.”
