Budget carrier Ryanair has announced it will begin operating flights to Finnish Lapland during the upcoming winter season. The airline will commence services to Rovaniemi from three English cities in late 2025.
Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester airports will each see two departures per week to the Arctic destination. The new routes form part of the carrier’s winter 2025/26 timetable.
Tickets for the services are on sale now. Lapland is a magical region in northern Finland, offering stunning natural beauty and unique experiences.
Known as the official home of Santa Claus, it’s especially popular during winter, when the snowy landscapes resemble a fairytale.
Visitors can enjoy husky sledding, snowmobiling, and the chance to see the spectacular Northern Lights. Lapland also offers a rich Sámi culture and cosy glass igloos for stargazing.
Whether looking for adventure or tranquillity, travellers are discovering that Lapland’s mix of Arctic charm and unforgettable scenery makes it an irresistible holiday destination year-round.
The Finnish destination offers holidaymakers the chance to explore Christmas-themed attractions. Rovaniemi serves as a base for various seasonal pursuits, from winter sports to festive experiences associated with Father Christmas.
Ryanair’s director of communications, Jade Kirwan, said: “Christmas has come early for our UK customers with the launch of Ryanair’s Winter 2025/26 Lapland schedule, offering two weekly return flights across three new routes, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester.
“Lapland is like waking up in a dream, filled with magical experiences that you will share forever, including miles of glistening snow, reindeer and husky rides, snowball fights, the northern lights, Christmas-themed parks and of course, home to the big man himself.

Britons who are more in search of some winter sun also have good news as the premium airline Emirates announced new flights from the UK to Dubai.
It has added its fourth daily service, departing from London Gatwick, which will begin on February 8, 2026 and bring Emirates’ total London capacity to 12 daily departures, spread across three airports.
The evening schedule is to be particularly convenient for tourists. Departing Dubai at 17:05 and arriving at Gatwick by 20:50, the timing allows holidaymakers to enjoy a full final day in the emirate before their return journey.
