Sarah Ferguson defiant she’s ‘blameless’ in Epstein scandal | Royal | News

Sarah Ferguson has not been dealing well with the aftermath of the latest bombshells regarding her links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and believes she is “blameless” despite the furore, sources have claimed. The former Duchess of York, who lost her title and her home, after her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, with whom she still lives at Royal Lodge, faced yet another fall from grace, after new details emerged of his relationship with the disgraced US financier, which led to the King stripping him of his titles and honours.

The ex-couple are now counting the days in Windsor, as the former prince is expected to move into one of the houses in the vast Sandringham Estate, reportedly in the new year. Fergie, as she is affectionately known, has not announced where she will find refuge after her eviction from Windsor.

Several charities severed ties with her after she was seen “humbly” apologising to the financier for comments she made to the media in 2011.

Meanwhile, Fergie sparked further fury regarding her Epstein links after reports alleged that emails showed that she took her two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, to see the late financier after he was released from prison.

According to The Telegraph, a source close to Ms Ferguson insisted that neither she nor her daughters, who would have been 20 and 19 at the time, had any recollection of such a visit.

Now, another source close to the former duchess said the whole scandal has had its toll on her but she remains defiant that she’s blameless in it all.

They told The Sun: “It is no secret that Sarah is not in a good way at the moment. The girls are extremely worried about her, and making sure they stay in touch.

“Sarah’s older sister, Jane, has been over from Australia recently to see her, and that was in part to give Sarah moral support.

“She feels she is blameless but has taken what has happened recently extremely hard.”

The source added: “Sarah still thinks Andrew is a good person and will always support him — but she knows her future is away from him.”
