I have to admit that I laughed my head off at the story my colleague Brad Essex reported on about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his imaginary friends, the Baileys.
It may be the funniest seven minutes you listen to today, if you haven’t seen it already.
Absolutely wild
For over two decades, Chuck Schumer told how his political career was inspired by a Long Island couple named “Joe and Eileen Bailey.”
The problem is… they don’t even exist.

They even had an interview with the imaginary friends.

Schumer has admitted in the past that they are a fiction. But what makes it hilarious is the intricate backstory and the fact that Schumer has been talking about them since 2007, even saying they wee a guide to how he operates. Now the purpose was supposed to be, I think, that he was trying to convey he was reaching out to the people in the center. In this case, even the Baileys, who voted for Trump.
The problem? While he talks about them, he and the other Democrats haven’t been talking to them or listening to the actual people they represent. They have the stereotype of right-wing thoughts with the Baileys, but the Democrats ultimately don’t care about what they care about. That’s why they’ve lost the center, and why the people in the center have moved to the right. All they talk about is how much they hate and have to stop President Donald Trump.
If you check Schumer’s X timeline, virtually every recent post is anti-Trump. Even his latest move, to name the controversial Jack Schlossberg, John F. Kennedy’s grandson, to the America 250 Commission, the commission prepping for America’s birthday next year, seems to be about being anti-Trump, as he says he’s appointing him to somehow block Trump.
I’m thrilled to announce I’m appointing Jack Schlossberg @JBKSchlossberg to the America 250 Commission.
We need someone who will make sure America’s 250th birthday celebrates our nation and our values.
And I can’t think of a better person than Jack to take on that mission. pic.twitter.com/W6cAdJQRqH

“Why am I putting Jack there?” Schumer said. “We know Donald Trump will try to aggrandize the whole thing and make it part of him and his ego. There’s no better person to push back on that than you, Jack.”
He said Trump will want to take that 250th birthday cake and stuff it in his face. “You’ll be there to stop him,” Schumer said. He continued to attack Trump and told Schlossberg his job was to “fight back.”
This is maximum Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The purpose of such an appointment should be on what’s important to the American people, what they care about with the 250th birthday of our nation, and who can do the best job for that. Not who can stand in the way of Trump. Notice he didn’t mention one thing that Schlossberg had done in his past that would qualify for such an appointment. He has a famous family, and he hates Trump – how does that mean he will do a good job? Why is the job cast as fighting Trump? It’s because that’s all Schumer sees at this point. That’s all Democrats are pushing at this point.
On top of that, Schlossberg is a controversial figure because of the bizarre social media posts he has made. We’ve noted them in the past, and some of them are gross. For example, he asked if Usha Vance is hotter than his grandmother, Jackie Kennedy Onassis.
But perhaps his reaction to CNN commentator and Salem Radio host Scott Jennings is a good example. And this is one of Schlossberg’s milder offerings.

This is the guy Schumer thinks is the right man for the job?
