There’s bias in the media, and then there’s next-level, full-throated love of the most extreme parts of the leftist movement, as exhibited by ABC News reporter Matt Gutman.
Gutman, as many are aware, went on an unhinged romanticization of text messages revealed by Charlie Kirk’s assassin to his love interest, where he seemingly admitted to and attempted to justify his actions.
The reporter thoroughly embarrassed himself with the gushing sentiments. He felt the need to highlight the “duality” of a deranged killer and how he spoke “so lovingly” to his partner.
“It was very touching in a way that I think many of us didn’t expect,” Gutman said. “A very intimate portrait into this relationship between the suspect’s roommate and the suspect himself.”
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) discussed the matter in an appearance with Fox News host Laura Ingraham late Tuesday, and provided an assessment as only he can.
“Once again, some people need a shock collar. Touching? The guy just murdered another human being. He just – And he’s talking about it to his love interest. It reminded me of something my dog would bring up,” Kennedy countered. “Touching? The guy murdered a human being!”
“You know, I try to be tolerant of other points of view. I really do, but that wasn’t touching. And no fair-minded person can call it touching.”
Kennedy suggests ABC News reporter needs a shock collar after gushing over Charlie Kirk shooter’s text messages to his lover.

Charlie Kirk Suspect’s Chilling Justification for Shooting Revealed in Text Messages
It’s remarkable, really, when you consider the media spends a good chunk of their time dehumanizing people like President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and some of their friends … like Charlie Kirk. But then finds an assassin to be a romantic figure to be admired.
Kirk had been wrongfully branded a “fascist” repeatedly on left-wing social media platforms leading up to, and even after, his violent assassination.
And yet, the first thing Gutman does is to try to humanize his killer. Kennedy makes the much bigger point that media – legacy and/or social – is the problem with the state of this country today.
“Some of this is the fault of the media. A lot of it is the fault of social media. Let’s face it. Social media has lowered the cost of being an a-hole,” Kennedy observed. “People do things on social media that they would never do to each other’s face. And it’s become just rage bait.”
The Louisiana Senator said he doesn’t have a solution to that problem yet. There needs to be one and soon. There is a direct line to be drawn from the left’s tinder box of phrasing on social media to the bullet casings that littered the Kirk shooting crime scene, one of which read, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
Gutman, meanwhile, has been suspended from ABC twice in the past, once for violating pandemic policies and another time for incorrectly reporting that all four of Kobe Bryant’s children died in a helicopter crash in 2020.
A third time seems necessary for being a drooling, driveling moron trying to humanize a cold-blooded killer.
