Shutdown, by popular demand

The people have spoken. From Rasmussen Reports,

51% Want Government Shutdown to Continue.

Vox populi, vox dei. Details,

A narrow majority of voters – including two-thirds of Democrats – are in favor of having the current government shutdown continue.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of continuing the shutdown, including 31% who Strongly Approve. Forty-one percent (41%) disapprove, including 29% who Strongly Disapprove of letting the shutdown continue.

Just a guess, but those 51 percent may not all share the same reason for their position on the issue.

On the other side of the coin, we have this headline from The Hill newspaper this morning,

Government shutdown strains increase at 3-week mark

The Hill writes about increased flight delays over the weekend. Everyone thinks that something’s gotta give.

Perhaps not.
