Sisters of Life launch new website to help pregnant women reject abortion

(LifeSiteNews) — The Sisters of Life of launched a new website to provide support for women in crisis pregnancies.

In August, the Sisters of Life unveiled their new website “Vis,” which offers spiritual and emotional counseling to women facing crisis pregnancies, as well as practical resources and personal advocacy.

“As Sisters of Life, we care about you, the whole you — body, mind, and soul,” the website vision states. “That’s why we offer a holistic approach to pregnancy, because we know that before being a medical issue, it’s a spiritual issue — it’s an issue of the heart. We believe that a woman should be empowered to move in freedom, not in fear, and that’s why we stand in solidarity with every woman who is pregnant.”

”No woman should be left alone, used, or coerced,” it continued. “The opposite of love isn’t hate, but use. Every woman deserves to be listened to, loved, and supported towards full life-flourishing.”

The center is named after the Latin word “vis” which means force or power, as the sisters offer resources to allow women to take control over their lives and embrace their unborn children, despite difficult circumstances.

In addition to helping women overcome the fear of an unplanned pregnancy, the center offers practical recourses to help women face the financial and social challenges of having a baby.

Furthermore, the sisters provide compassionate care for women who have undergone abortions, understanding the deep emotional wounds left by abortion.

“Serving pregnant women and women who have experienced abortion, we offer free, confidential, and compassionate spiritual and emotional accompaniment, practical pregnancy support, a network of resources, and opportunities for healing,” the sisters said. “Nobody is meant to walk alone. We’re here for you. We’re all sisters, here.”

“We know abortion often brings deep suffering, and you deserve to be received with compassion,” the sisters assure post-abortive women. “We’d love to walk with you on a journey towards healing.”

One woman testified, “After meeting with the Sisters, I was convinced they would not leave me, and they would be by my side every step of the way. I was relieved to find this support because I knew deep down, even from the very beginning, that abortion was not the answer.”

Sisters for Life offers in-person centers across Canada and the United States, as well as phone contact for women in other regions and internationally.

In an interview with LifeSiteNews, Campaign Life Coalition’s (CLC) Jack Fonseca celebrated the initiative, saying, “The Sisters of Life have been a powerful force in the movement since their inception, and I think this new website will only magnify their ability save babies from death, and to spare women a lifetime of trauma and regret!”

“The website is cosmetically very appealing and easy to navigate, which is important for engagement in our digital world, but more importantly, the way it’s written really speaks to the deep fears, uncertainty and dreams of women who may find themselves in a crisis pregnancy,” he continued. “It’s resource pro-lifers really need to share with the abortion-vulnerably women in their lives.”

“The Sisters of Life were also very wise to include a spiritual element up front, offering women spiritual support in addition to practical resources,” he continued. “In so doing, I think they’ll invoke God’s blessing upon their efforts, and allow them to make deeper connections with the women who reach out.”

“Pro-life centers like these are so important because the key to changing the world, is changing one heart at a time,” Fonseca declared.
