Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gomersall found herself issuing an apology to viewers after an unexpected incident during a live broadcast on Saturday.
The 54-year-old was conducting an interview with a Sunderland supporter known as Taff following the Black Cats’ 1-1 result against Bournemouth when the situation took an embarrassing turn.
A man decided to moon the camera during the live segment, catching both the presenters and the fan completely off guard.
Gomersall’s co-host Jay Bothroyd, the 43-year-old former Coventry, Cardiff and Wolves striker, visibly struggled to maintain his composure as the bizarre scene unfolded.
The individual responsible wore dark clothing and positioned himself behind Taff’s shoulder before turning away from the camera and lowering his trousers for all viewers to see.
Gomersall acted swiftly to regain control of the broadcast, stating: “Do we want to come off that screen a bit, we don’t need to be seeing something like that, I can only apologise.”
The experienced presenter promptly concluded the interview, telling the fan: “Taff I’m going to leave you there because we just don’t wanna have things like that.”

She addressed the audience directly, adding: “If I can apologise to anyone watching at home that might have been offended by that, I certainly was.
“Apologies for that, unfortunately we do get some idiots like that when we are doing a live show.”
While Gomersall was evidently mortified by the strange occurrence, her fellow presenter found it considerably harder to keep a straight face.

Bothroyd, who enjoyed a lengthy career in English football before moving into broadcasting, could be seen cracking a wry smile as the pair attempted to process what had just happened.
