Socialists Pushing Mamdani to Make NYC a BDS Battleground – RedState

There’s an old saying in politics: “You’ve got to dance with the one who brung you.” In the case of New York, and the Big Apple’s new democratic-socialist mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, at least one of his escorts to this soiree was the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). Specifically, their New York Chapter.

They aren’t wasting their time making their demands known, either.

The Democratic Socialists of America’s Big Apple chapter will push Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to implement a virulently anti-Israel agenda, leaked documents show.

Included in the NYC-DSA’s “Anti-War Working Group” list of a dozen “demands” for the incoming is an end all city contracts with companies doing business with Israel, and withdrawing all funds from banks lending money to the Jewish state, according to a planning document first exposed by Just The News.

The five-page screed was distributed at the group’s Nov. 2 public meeting, and reveals the DSA’s NYC chapter has been plotting since at least late September on how to best to ensure the pro-Palestine, Israel-hating Mamdani fully supports its anti-Israel agenda once he’s sworn in as mayor in January — and doesn’t buckle to political pressure.

Does anyone think that this group’s antipathy will stop at just Israeli Jews?

Here’s the full list of demands:

  • Divesting city pensions from Israeli bonds and securities.
  • Banning Israeli products from the city-run grocery stores Mamdani wants to open.
  • Investigating real estate agents “hosting illegal sales of stolen lands in the West Bank.”
  • Stripping tax-exempt nonprofit status from entities that raise funds for the Israel Defense Forces.
  • End the NYPD’s training with Israeli Occupation Forces.
  • Arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and active IDF soldiers for “war crimes” if they enter the Big Apple.
  • Dismantle an NYC-Israel Economic Council formed by outgoing Mayor Adams.

Of course, the City of New York has no authority to do a lot of these things, like stripping non-profit status from, well, anyone. And as far as “investigating real estate agents,” is this actually happening? Has there been any real estate sales from the West Bank, or, like so many things on the list of “stuff socialists are all stirred up about,” is this just another far-left fever dream?

Florida Commemorates Victims of Communism Day as NYC Residents Prepare to Flee From Mamdani’s Reign

If I were a Jewish person in New York City, I think I would be looking to the exits right about now.

Of course, there is as yet no indication that mayor-elect Mamdani intends to implement any of these demands, but we should note that he has been a long-time supporter of the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. His father, Mahmood Mamdani, sits on the board of a group that has expressed sympathy for Islamic terrorists:

The father of socialist NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani sits on an advisory council of an Israel-hating organization that routinely accuses the Jewish state of committing “genocide” – and has expressed sympathy for suicide bombers.

Mahmood Mamdani, 79, is listed as one of 29 members of the London-based Gaza Tribunal’s advisory policy council.

The group, founded last year, says its primary goal is “to awaken civil society to its responsibility and opportunity to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza.”

It’s interesting, isn’t it, how it’s always the case with socialists that they focus on things like this instead of, say, making sure the trash is picked up, that the subways are safe and running on time, that the police, not the criminals, are in control on the city streets? Zohran Mamdani hasn’t had a lot to say on those topics since winning the election.

New York is in for a very, very interesting four years. Maybe the voters of the city will come out the far end a little wiser; almost certainly poorer, almost certainly less safe, but maybe at least a little wiser.
