Starvation In Gaza | Power Line

The liberal press has been promoting for some time the idea that there is a famine in Gaza, and it is caused by Israel. The New York Times went so far as to perpetrate a hoax, publishing a picture of an emaciated child and falsely alleging that it was due to Israel-induced famine. In fact, the boy suffers from a debilitating disease, not starvation, and the Times conveniently left out of the photo the boy’s perfectly well-fed mother and sibling.

The truth is that large quantities of food are sitting in Gaza, but are not being distributed because Hamas shoots both people who try to distribute food and people who try to claim it. And even with those constraints, the much-mooted famine is greatly overstated.

But there is indeed starvation in Gaza: the Gazans are starving Israeli hostages. Those who are not far gone in anti-Semitism have been horrified by the video that Hamas released of hostage Evyatar David, who apparently was being forced to dig his own grave.

David is near death from starvation.

Why does Hamas do it? Hamas is a psychotic, sadistic organization. In fact, it exists for no other purpose than to be psychotic and sadistic. One might think that, at a moment when several European countries are vowing to recognize a “Palestinian” state–although no one knows what the boundaries of such a state might be, or how it might be governed–it would be a good time to suppress homicidal urges. But Hamas sees no need to do so. The sadism of others often has a certain appeal to the weak.

This message is from Bar Refaeli’s Instagram feed. At 40, Refaeli is still a celebrity model and has recently launched a cosmetics line. In recent years, she has also emerged as an Israeli patriot:

Has Hamas won? I don’t know, but they certainly think they are winning. And, at a minimum, France, Canada and the U.K. think so, too.
