Suspect Arrested in Brown Murders [Updated]

The mass shooter at Brown University apparently has been caught. Authorities are extremely tight-lipped. They have said nothing about the murderer except that he is in his 20s. We don’t know whether he was connected to the university, nor has there been any hint as to a motive.

However, it is being said–I don’t know how accurately–that a specific classroom was targeted, and that the class was taught by a Jewish professor and was part of the university’s Judaic Studies program:

Apparently an alleged name of the shooter has surfaced, but his identity has not been confirmed by Providence police. There is speculation about the murderer and his motives, but at this point, we don’t have any hard facts.

UPDATE: This account, quoting the instructor, says there was a review session going on in the classroom or study hall that the shooter attacked. It says the class was Principles of Economics, and the review, I take it, was in preparation for final exams that are (or were) going on at Brown. Witnesses say the shooter was masked and shouted something before he opened fire, but they couldn’t understand what he said.
