To my point from yesterday, from The Hill newspaper,
Teachers, firefighters, elected officials and even a cable news contributor have lost their jobs or are under investigation after comments they made about the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
What’s remarkable about this is just how unremarkable it all is. What we would think of as garden-variety, everyday Americans don’t think twice about publicly wishing death and pain on their neighbors and strangers.
The U.K. Daily Mail has an in-depth portrait on Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Utah man and suspected assassin of Kirk. What I take from the profile is the utter banality of it.
Young Mr. Robinson seems to be a standard-issue west coast antifa type: featuring a comfortable suburban upbringing, (briefly) a state university scholarship student, but perhaps with above-average marksmanship skills.
The Daily Mail quotes Utah Governor Spenser Cox,
Cox said that casings from the weapon used to kill Kirk were found to have several anti-fascist messages engraved on them, including one referencing the WW2 Italian anti-fascist song Bella Ciao.
One engraving read ‘Hey Fascists, Catch!’ – next to an up arrow symbol, right arrow symbol and three down arrow symbols – another read ‘OwO’, and a third read ‘If You Read This You Are Gay LMAO’, Cox said.
Robinson appears to be exactly the sort of product that the education establishment and the progressive left hope to produce by age 22. Call him the New Soviet Man for the 21st century
It is fortunate that they captured him alive as a specimen that can be studied in isolation.
