The Left has coordinated its story on the death of Renee Good, the woman who was shot yesterday by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. The party line is that the agent didn’t need to shoot Good, because she was turning her car and wouldn’t have hit him.
Thus, the New York Times’s email carries this subject heading: “Videos contradict Trump administration account of ICE shooting in Minneapolis.” The Times says:
An analysis of footage shows that the vehicle driven by a woman who was fatally shot by an ICE agent appeared to be turning away from the officer as he opened fire.
The Washington Post says almost exactly the same thing. Email subject heading: “The Post Most: ICE agent was not in the vehicle’s path when he fired the fatal shots, video shows.”
The fact that Good’s car was turning is all over liberal X, as though it somehow invalidated the agent’s self-defense. But of course the car was turning. If Good had gone straight, she would have driven onto a residential lawn. She had parked her car in a perpendicular manner across the street, apparently to interfere with ICE vehicles:
Obviously, she was turning to the right so as to proceed down the street and thereby evade arrest. You can see the videos here. By rapidly accelerating and steering to the right, she drove directly at the ICE agent who was in front of her car. The Post’s claim that the ICE agent “was not in the vehicle’s path” is rendered absurd by the fact that Good’s car hit him, and he was treated for injuries. This same agent, by the way, recently suffered a much more serious injury when he was dragged by an illegal alien’s car as he was trying to apprehend the alien. Being an ICE agent is dangerous, and it is made vastly more dangerous by irresponsible far-left politicians like Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.
As in all such cases, if Ms. Good had simply followed the officer’s direction and gotten out of her car, she would be alive and well today. She might not even have been arrested.
Who is to blame for her death? Herself, obviously. But I also blame Tim Walz and Jacob Frey. They have whipped their Democratic Party followers, many of whom are of limited intelligence, into an insane frenzy of hate against Donald Trump and his administration. They have demonized ICE as the Gestapo. If you are someone foolish enough to believe their nonsense, what should you do when the Gestapo approaches your vehicle? Flee. Which is what Renee Good did, and what cost her her life.
Tim Walz and Jacob Frey, I know you are going to read this. So I say to you both: you are responsible.
