After a massive bombardment of the Houthis in coordination with the Israelis, the Yemeni terrorist group has surrendered to President Donald Trump’s onslaught. For nearly two months, airstrikes have rained down in an effort to secure the vital shipping lanes passing through the Red Sea and on to the Suez Canal.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Oman, the operation has succeeded, and a ceasefire has been brokered.

As RedState reported on Monday, news first broke of Israeli strikes targeting the Houthi port of Hodeidah. That came after the terrorist group launched ballistic missiles at Ben Gurion Airport, with one slipping past air defenses and falling on the perimeter. Several people were injured, and air traffic was shut down for hours. It was certain that a major escalation would take place.

Once videos of those attacks started going viral, other videos of the Houthi capital of Sana’a also emerged. Those turned out to be U.S. attacks on key infrastructure, and the message was received.

Not mentioned in the statement was the Houthi position toward Israel. That means they will likely continue their harassment campaign against the American ally, which they claim is in solidarity with Hamas. Of course, everyone knows Iran is pulling the strings regarding all this chaos, whether in Yemen, Gaza, or Lebanon. Given how much damage the Israelis reportedly did to Hodeidah, though, it’s possible there’s a pause despite the lack of a formal ceasefire.
Will the Houthis respect this ceasefire and leave American ships alone? Over the long term, maybe not, but this is a good start and is a much-needed foreign policy win for the second Trump administration. The Western world simply can’t allow a rag-tag group of Yemeni terrorists to shut down international shipping lanes. That Joe Biden allowed that to happen for so long ended up as yet another black mark on his horrible record.
