Former Barenaked Ladies man Steven Page played the Dakota last night with cellist Kevin Fox. His site is here. It’s the second time I’ve seem Page at the Dakota. All I remember about the first show is how much I enjoyed it. This time around, I would like to note last night’s setlist here.
What a show the two put on. Page has a powerful tenor voice. He has a gift for pretty melodies to go with his witty and twisted lyrics.
Page has publicly discussed his mental health issues. He frequently puts them to good use, as he did in “Brian Wilson” and as he has done in several other of his songs. He performs “Brian Wilson” in the video below with Fox, who was his lone accompanist last night. He closed his two-hour set with this one before the encore.
