I’m sure you’ve heard about that young Ukrainian refugee murdered by a thug on a Charlotte light rail train. And the only reason you heard of it is because a local Charlotte TV channel got ahold of the video.
The incident happened two weeks ago. WBTV-3 reports,Light rail stabbing: Graphic video shows moments before, after woman killed in Charlotte.
They report,
WBTV on Friday, Sept. 5 obtained surveillance video of a deadly stabbing that happened two weeks earlier on the Lynx Blue Line light rail system in Charlotte, North Carolina.
At around 9:50 p.m. on Aug. 22, a light rail passenger stabbed Iryna Zarutska, 23, several times. Officials said she was stabbed in the throat at least one time. Zarutska was pronounced dead on the light rail.
Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Zarutska’s killing.
As for Mr. Brown, The New York Post reports.
Brown — who has multiple arrests dating back to 2011 — was charged with first-degree murder, according to CMPD. His record includes larceny, robbery with a dangerous weapon and communicating threats, according to court records obtained by The Post.
The suspect is homeless and once served five years in prison for the robbery with a deadly weapon charge, according to WSOC-TV.
A deranged career criminal murders innocent woman for no reason. What does the Mayor (Vi Lyles) think? From her post on Twitter (X),
The video of the heartbreaking attack that took Iryna Zarutska’s life is now public. I want to thank our media partners and community members who have chosen not to repost or share the footage out of respect for Iryna’s family.
The murder isn’t the real crime. The real crime is noticing the murder. Also from the Mayor, From WFAE-FM,
Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles is calling the fatal stabbing of a young woman on the city’s light rail system a “tragic situation” that underscores broader challenges with mental health and homelessness.
Wrong answer.
“We will never arrest our way out of issues such as homelessness and mental health,” Lyles said. “Mental health disease is just that — a disease like any other that needs to be treated with the same compassion, diligence and commitment as cancer or heart disease.”
Do not viist Charlotte. Do not invest money in Charlotte.
