What to make of the current situation in Minneapolis? For a full decade now, I’ve been describing the ongoing de-evolution within the city limits as “Detroit on the Mississippi.” It turns out that I was far too optimistic about the city’s prospects.
The word I hear uttered over and over again by the state’s Democratic politicians is “fear.” When I first started hearing that word repeated, I initially thought they were referring to the fear among illegal aliens of deportation.
Now, I think they are referring to their own fears. It turns out that Minnesota state, county, and city governments have been propped up by billions and billions of federal dollars obtained through fraud. That well just dried up.
Now, for the first time ever, federal immigration laws are being enforced. As a result, 100,000-200,000 workers that were driving down local wages are being removed.
The jig is up. They have nothing to replace it. Now what happens?
