The Teflon President | Power Line

Today’s Presidential approval poll published by Rasmussen Reports has Donald Trump above water. No, really. They write,

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove.

You may doubt the accuracy and leanings of the Rasmussen poll, but they have two things going for them: they are in the field daily and they use a consistent methodology, so the trend should be unimpeachable.

The UK Daily Mail has Trump up by +8 under the headline,

EXCLUSIVE: Trump hits record high approval rating amid tariff turmoil

If you follow American media as much as I do, this result will come as a complete shock.

All the news being reported is about how Trump has ended Medicare, Social Security, and closed all of the VA hospitals. Not to mention kidnapping innocent men from Maryland and throwing them into an El Salvador prison.

I’ve written frequently observing how Trump’s approval rating had not dropped below 50 percent since his second term began back in January.

Well, it did briefly drop below 50 percent during last week’s stock market gyrations. But now it’s back.

Not that you could tell from these headlines from the past 24 hours,

Fake news.
