Robert Bates from the Centre for Migration Control has sounded the alarm over a surge in sexual offences committed by Afghan nationals in the UK. He says many of the perpetrators “should not even be here”.
Citing Ministry of Justice (MoJ) data, Mr Bates revealed Afghans are 22 times more likely to be convicted of sexual offences than British nationals. The figures show they are also far more likely to offend than other foreign national groups in the UK.
Speaking to Steven Edginton for GB News Originals, he said: “This is a huge problem, and I actually think we are seeing a deluge of news stories now.
“Almost every week, we hear of another horrific case in an otherwise peaceful town, carried out against the people of this country by individuals who should not even be here.
“It is essential that the conversation recognises this fundamental fact and begins seriously discussing what must be done to stop these atrocities from continuing.”
He also addressed how Britain can fix the problem, saying: “A huge part of the solution, I believe, should be by following a model similar to Donald Trump’s approach, by introducing a high-risk list of countries whose nationals, over represented in certain crimes, should not be allowed entry.
“We also need to review those who have arrived in recent years, particularly individuals crossing on small boats, about whom we know very little.
“Many of these cases involve asylum claims being granted improperly, often due to a woefully incompetent Home Office that is no longer fit for purpose.

“Going forward, the conversation must not only acknowledge these facts but also focus on concrete action. A red list is essential. Thorough reviews of asylum cases are essential.
“We also need to consider making crimes committed in the UK by foreign nationals an aggravating factor in sentencing.
“This is not just about Afghans; other foreign nationals who have committed heinous attacks and received minimal sentences, such as limited community service, highlight the system’s failure.
“And it is not only serious crimes like sexual assault, assault, or drug offences, abuse of hospitality also falls into this category.

“It is far past the time for tougher measures to ensure that those entering the country are on their very best behaviour because, clearly, that is not happening at the moment.”
Steven continued: “I want to ask about where and why these people are in the country. Why are there so many Afghans in Britain today?
“Can you explain the resettlement scheme and who is responsible for allowing so many people from Afghanistan and other third-world countries into Britain?
Mr Bates said: “On the Afghanistan point, you’re absolutely right. There were two resettlement schemes opened in 2021.
“It later emerged that there had been a secret, even larger third scheme launched by the then Defence Secretary, Ben Wallace.
“I think this will go down in history as emblematic of one of the great deceits the political establishment has tried to pull over the British public.
“Tens of thousands of individuals were brought in quietly, often at night, without appearing on official Government data or statistics, and simply placed in communities across the country.
“What really happened, I believe, reflects a bygone era of political thinking the idea that we have obligations toward those who fought alongside us. I think that was a wholly inappropriate attitude.
“Many of these individuals were not fighting out of loyalty to the British state; some were doing it as a job, others to advance their own political interests.
“Many, frankly, are in no way representative of British values or the interests of the UK. Yet politicians, in their naivety, assumed that because these individuals had been on the books of the British state or had worked with the armed forces, we had a duty toward them.
“In fact, many were not even former employees of the British Army. Some simply appeared on a leaked list from the Ministry of Defence. Beyond that, there were many applications from individuals who hadn’t even been on the list.
“Essentially, a wide net was thrown open, allowing anyone with a seemingly legitimate claim to enter the country.”
