As we closed out January, the longest news month experienced for some time, there was – as usual – no shortage of news for the media industry to contort. Amid all of the furor and evolving policies in Minnesota, there was also the supposed dramatic attack on Dem Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-05), which fled news cycles within hours.
Also, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard headed a raid on Georgia voting precincts, much of the nation was plunged into an arctic freeze, there was a new rash of Epstein Files released, and – because there was not enough mayhem taking place – we had to close out the month with the arrest of disgraced former CNN pundit Don Lemon.
January 2026, we gotta say – not sad to see you finally come to a close!

THE CONTENDERS
CNN – The network came out in full support of Don Lemon, ignoring the core facts of the case. Brian Stelter was in full complaint mode about the Lemon arrest. Abby Phillip tried to insist the indictment of Lemon does not say he blocked parents from their kids, then had to have the actual charge from the indictment read to her. Dana Bash was shamed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche when she was unaware that Biden’s Director of National Intelligence was involved in the Mar-a-Lago raid. Juliette Kayyem praised the “success” of the Minneapolis riots because they gave people something to do. The network had an internal struggle session meeting with CEO Mark Thompson about how the leftist staffers are upset that Scott Jennings is allowed on the air. One complaint is that he uses the very legal definition “illegal alien” during broadcasts.
MS NOW – Nicolle Wallace posts a picture of Alex Pretti that was altered with AI. After being called out on the deception, when the segment was loaded into the archives on the digital side, the image had been removed. Lawrence O’Donnell raved that Zohran Mamdani had the streets cleared of snow, as is expected of a mayor, but Larry declared that this act is now considered socialism. Chris Hayes went to the extent of comparing Minneapolis protesters to soccer moms handing out orange slices and juice boxes.
National Public Radio – David Folkenflik is serving as a conduit for griping CBS News employees, while Bari Weiss wants private discussions; this differs from Uri Beriner, who went public after he was spurned by management. After Tulsi Gabbard was involved with the Georgia election documents seizure, Steve Inskeep was very bothered – not curious – and asked others to do his job and find out what was happening. The site energetically detailed how Minneapolis protesters against ICE were donning hats knitted by locals that are “inspired by a symbol of resistance to Nazi occupation.”
THE WINNER

ABC NEWS
Correspondent Trevor Ault, in Minneapolis, was basically encouraging protestors to go out and oppose ICE with guns.
With the Ilhan Omar incident, George Stephanopoulos introduced a segment saying, Omar is “the frequent target of President Trump,” then correspondent Jay O’Brien continued with the slanted speculation: “While the exact motive of the attacker remains unclear, Omar has been a frequent target for conservative anger.”
On “World News Tonight,” they experienced tech issues the likes of which CBS had last month on Tony Dokoupil’s debut, but nobody called the show a failure.
In its coverage of the Don Lemon issue, the network failed to include clips of the reverend asking Lemon to leave the church.
On the announcement that President Trump put forth a new account program for babies born over the next three years, ABC trashed the plan because richer people will be able to save more money.
Editor’s Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.
