This Is ‘Gavin Newsom’s Lawless California’—American Idol Exec, Husband Brutally Slain by Known Psycho – RedState

It’s a horrible story, the kind that keeps you up at night, and it’s made all the more terrible by the fact that it should never have happened. Had competent officials been in charge in the progressive sewer of California, a known violent drug addict would have been behind bars instead of brutally slaying a wealthy, accomplished couple in the beautiful Los Angeles neighborhood of Encino.

The story: Longtime, Emmy-winning “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye and her husband, composer Thomas Deluca, were found dead in their home Monday after both were brutally executed.

The details are not pretty:

Police said that Kaye and Deluca returned home while [now suspect Raymond] Boodarian was inside, leading to a confrontation that resulted in a shooting. They were found in separate rooms and had been shot multiple times. The suspect then fled from the area on foot…

It turns out it doesn’t matter where you live in the Golden State; even the nicest neighborhoods aren’t safe.

According to the surveillance video, Boodarian had been inside the home for about 30 minutes before the couple came home and confronted him.

Now a suspect has been identified and apprehended, and in an all too familiar blue state tale, the signs were all there, and he should never have been out on the street:

The Los Angeles lowlife accused of killing “American Idol” executive Robin Kaye in cold blood was previously accused of pulling a knife on his stepfather and threatening his own mother and sister — but only spent six months in custody before his charges were dismissed.

Raymond Boodarian, 22, threatened his stepfather with a blade in November 2023 in the first in a series of busts in just eight months, according to KABC and court documents.

He was arrested in February 2023 for misdemeanor battery and threatening his mother and sister — and then again in June 2024, the network reported.

Why was he roaming Encino instead of rotting behind bars? Because of progressive policies, the kind that Gov. Gavin Newsom and George Soros-backed prosecutors have been pushing in blue states for years.

It remains unclear exactly why Boodarian’s charges were dropped, but California legal experts suggested he may have qualified for California’s Mental Health Diversion program — which gives people with verified mental illnesses the opportunity to complete a treatment program in lieu of prison time, and then walk away scot-free without charges, convictions, or any monitoring or probation of any kind.

Neighbors had been begging for help but were ignored:

Now two innocent people are COLD-BLOODEDLY EXECUTED, and the same gutless bureaucrats who ignored the warnings are scrambling to cover their asses🩸👎

⚠️ This is CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT.

This is what leftist policies bring to America’s cities

It’s no fun reading about, or reporting on, stories like this, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families. This is what progressive justice—“judicial reform” and “Defund the Police”—often means in reality. There was a simpler solution in the past—put violent criminals behind bars and keep them there, but leftists think they know better.

It hasn’t worked, it’s never worked, and sadly, sometimes tragedies like this are what bring that home.

The left’s soft-on-crime policies have wreaked havoc on America.
