Tim Walz Throws Tantrum After Daycare Funding Spigot Is Shut Off, Gets Epic Ratio in Return – RedState

Things are not going well for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz right now.

He’s in the middle of a swirling fraud scandal, and getting justifiably blasted for not stopping it.

The Trump administration took action earlier this week to cut off the money spigot. They’re demanding receipts before any money goes out in the future and an audit of the daycare facilities featured in Nick Shirley’s viral video.

Now, if Walz had any sense, his response should have been, “Thank you for the help, we will do everything we can to comply and help ensure that any fraud is stopped.” He would take responsibility and say he’s going to clean things up.

But it’s Tim Walz, who has no sense and can’t read the room. So, of course, he went to Default Mode #1 and….blamed President Donald Trump. This was one for the books.

This is Trump’s long game.

We’ve spent years cracking down on fraudsters. It’s a serious issue – but this has been his plan all along.

He’s politicizing the issue to defund programs that help Minnesotans.

No, Tim, the Trump administration is asking that you pony up the proof before they shell out any money. Trump isn’t politicizing the issue; you are. This should be a simple request. Why do you have an issue with it? Hmm…

So, let me get this straight. According to Tim Walz, Trump’s “long game” was Walz letting fraud happen in his state? Is that really the delusional tantrum he wants to go with? If he spent years cracking down on it, why is it still going on? As we reported, Republican Minnesota state Rep. Kristin Robbins (R-37A), the chair of the Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Oversight Policy Committee, said they told Walz about the daycare problem almost a year ago, but he did nothing.

Democrats always deflect to Trump to try to avoid scrutiny of their own actions. Trump had nothing to do with the fraud in Minnesota, but he’s providing the leadership necessary to stop it in the absence of such leadership from Democrats like Tim.

Walz understandably got ratioed to the moon for his response. The Republican Party of Minnesota laughed at his excuse.

Walz was skewered by one of those HHS guys in the video, who shut off the spigot, Alex Adams. He’s the Assistant Secretary for ACFHHS (Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Health and Human Services). While billions were flying out the door in fraud under Walz, Adams said he was asking orphans to pay for their own foster care and diverting their Social Security survivor benefits.

Walz can throw all the tantrums he wants, but he can’t escape his own actions.
