Tom ‘The Hammer’ Homan Calls Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson Out – RedState

Border Czar Tom “The Hammer” Homan may well be President Trump’s best match of person to job. He’s tough, he’s focused, he’s driven, he’s smart, he sees what needs to be done, and he’s out there doing it. What’s more, when he’s dealing with “sanctuary” city mayors, he doesn’t hold anything back.

Chicago’s mayor, the unfortunate Brandon Johnson, is learning this firsthand.

Trump administration border czar Tom Homan told reporters they plan to increase immigration enforcement efforts.

“And for those that say 3,000 a day is too much, I want to remind them, do the math, we’d have to arrest 7,000 every single day for the remainder of this administration just to catch the ones [former President Joe] Biden released in the nation, ” Homan said.

The “One Big Beautiful Bill” gives border security efforts $170 billion, including $45 billion for detention centers and $30 billion for more ICE personnel and transportation.

So, The Hammer now has the people, the plan, and the funding.

That’s where Mayor Johnson weighs in, with his usual plaintive bleating.

Johnson emphatically said Tuesday that the Chicago Police Department will not work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement efforts.

“Our local police department will not ever cooperate with ICE,” Johnson said during a news conference.

Yeah, good luck with that. I would advise Mayor Johnson to have a quick look at the United States Constitution, in particular the Supremacy Clause. But The Hammer has a much more direct reply:

“So what you’re going to get sanctuary cities is exactly what you don’t want, more agents in your communities and more collateral arrests,” Homan said. “That’s what we’re going to do. We’re doubling down, tripling down, so to those who say they’re going to keep ICE out of their city, good luck with that.”

That’s what we voted for. (Jessica Tarlov, are you listening?)

Here’s the thing: Brandon Johnson and other big-city mayors are doing the worst sort of pandering to the “progressive” base with this kind of stupidity. But the whole “sanctuary city” thing is only one of many ways in which Johnson and other nitwit mayors, like Los Angeles’s Karen Bass, are ruining what were once great cities. Heck, they’re ruining what were once entire great states – and I’m looking at you, Gavin “A Little Dab’ll Do Ya” Newsom. I mean, when things are getting so bad in the once-Golden State that the late Jerry Garcia’s Garcia Hand Picked cannabis brand up and leaves, then you know you’re in deep doo – and that was in 2023!

So, to Brandon Johnson, Karen Bass, and all the other big “sanctuary city” mayors, I can only say this: When The Hammer tells you he’s coming to town, you’d best start paying attention, and maybe even consider the meaning of the phrase “the rule of law.”

Oh, and he’s not the only one in the Trump administration taking a good, hard look at your cities’ policies.

Chicago, Cook County and the state of Illinois are defendants in a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Justice over policies prohibiting local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officials.

There’s a new sheriff in town, and you’d best believe he means business.

Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
